I like Dale Cooper but the rest of the characters are boring as hell and so is the story.

I liked Broadchurch and Breaking Bad.

what are you attempting to convey bro?

>> No.4145840

TV writing is really personal. Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Wire, are all mediocre written shows but because of their style and content (sex, drugs, violence) they're a lot more well-regarded.
It's sad that most people aren't able to discern quality from edgy aesthetics you find from your usual crap HBO show

It's too bad for Californication. They had some cool literary references and Moody had potential to be a good protagonist but they went too far too stale

I think they tried to get the hipster faggot audience by having the protagonist be an author

I don't know, man. Perhaps. Having an author protagonist is not a problem in itself though. The dialogs just became increasingly moronic. Perhaps the first and second episode were decent and the series... I just can't understand why Mulder left the bureau

Currently watching Mad Men and House of cards, both of which I enjoy mainly due to the writing.
Thinking of starting Breaking Bad but I'm worried its just gonna be too centred on plot without much care given to dialogue. Thoughts?

Mad Men isn't full of affairs and sex? Don Draper isn't an edgy character teenage boys idolize? It's all style no substance though, so my point still stands. There isn't much good writing in Mad Men to distinguish it from other soaps.
