It's quite interesting on this thread how a lot of people have preferences for words that have similar sounds or portions of sounds and particularly vowel sounds. I'm sure there's a correct term for it but I don't know what it is. It suggests to me that it's less the meaning than the actual particular sound of them that seems to resonate and in quite individual ways.

Bear in mind English is not my first language:

Everything: an all-encompassing pronoun. I have always loved this word on its phonetic alone, the v, the r and the th in conjuction are three very beautiful sounds.

Brobdignanian: huge, enormous, very big, very not small. Comes from Brobdignan, the name of the giants in Gulliver's Tales.

Awe: usually positive feeling of surprise upon regarding something excepcionally beautifull or unexpected. What I like about this word is its pronunciation, a single phoneme, the perfect example of the lack of connection between what you write and what you say; it's almost an onomatopoeia.

My favorite Spanish words:
Cerrojo - Lock. This word has three sounds VERY typical of the Spanish language, at least in Spain, the C (as the th in with), the RR and the J. The etymology and folk etymology behind the word is very interesting as well.

Quijada - old word for jaw. For some reason it sounds very strong (say that to Abel )

Caricia - (noun) Caress. It sounds very beautiful, but I don't honestly like it if it's not pronounced with a Castillian C (statisically speaking 90% of spanish speaker would say carissia, and that's awful).
