So, I just finished reading Les Miserables.

Fuck, that ending, I'm so sad right now. Easily one of the best books I have read.

Isn't that book a major slog to get through? Did you read alllll of it?

It's a biggy, but well worth it.

Honestly, I got kinda bored when he was talking about Waterloo for HUNDRED FUCKING PAGES, but other than that, it's a really good read. Yeah, kind of hard to get through, but you feel it's all worth it in the end.

What the fuck does race have to do with understanding Les Miserables?

It's also funny because if there were difficulty understanding it for people outside a certain group due to culture, it would be confusing to non-French people in general, again, regardless of skin color.

Yeah, though I actually felt the need to research some French history to understand the book better, but I'm guessing that the musical is WAY more accessible.

Your argument is invalid

did you enjoy the digressions with napoleon and waterloo? if i were to ever re-read les mis i'm wondering if an abridged version without those parts would be better. i found them distracting but i guess some people enjoyed it.

That part was kinda boring but it's actualy kinda interesting to see a part of the world at that time. The sewers, on the other hand...

Huh, that's pretty cool, I can see why now.
