this guy is a pseudo; he reads because he needs to affirm his existence. He like saying that he's reading; he likes talking about what he's reading; he likes using reading as a means to feel better than non-readers; but most of all he doesn't really like reading.

you can tell a pseudo from someone who is actually intelligent by their self-confidence; he's clearly beta and needs to "argue" with other people to feel smart. If he were smart, he would just read and not talk about it unless other people were to ask him about literature.

ugh i know people like him and they're depressing as anything, because i went through a phase like this and i must have been the most insufferable faggot.

My favorite part about this was how insanely butthurt people got. I was seriously just fucking around with a friend one night who posted pic related and I retaliated with the Bloom pic.

I posted this on r/cringepics and people lost their shit: http://www.reddit.com/r/cringepics/comments/18j8ks/proper_literature/

A lot of comments are just "what a douche" but some people seriously got genuinely upset and angered. I just think it's really revealing of how terrifying it can be to think of how other people see you...that pic is the absolute opposite of how so many people want to appear and it's clearly because they have a little bit Properness and Intellectualism deep inside.

But, perhaps we Ought not to worry about what those who are more familiar with Teletubbies than Cervantes. A most Troubling thought and indeed.
