I, Claudius is like if Suetonius and Tacitus got drunk in tabernam and touched each other underneath their togas. You can enjoy it on the level of a historyfag, easily suspending your disbelief and slipping into the mindset that it is the discovered memoirs of Claudius, and the most incredible primary source find ever. Or you can enjoy it on the level of a soap opera, one that will have you hanging off of lurid character drama like a middle-aged housewife.

It will come in really handy for memorising the Julio-Claudians.

It's pure pulpy fun so you don't have to take it super seriously as a literary monument, or pore over annotations.

There's a little white book for sale in a few comic or hobby shops around the country. It's anonymously published and written, and its title is apparently just "Manifesto". It changed how I view literature.

What edition(s) do you have? I've got the omnibus from 1993. She released revised editions in 2003.
