Im reading Birdsong at the moment
What is your opinion on this book?

I read it a good 5-6 years ago so I'm a little hazy on the details.

I enjoyed it, that much I can remember, but some characters just didn't resonate with me nearly as much. The better part of the book was during the trenches, naturally, and though the daughter(?) trying to find out more of her father in the parts set in the 70s(?) added and continued the sense of family and continuity down the generational line (much like pre-WW1 covered Stephens own family drama and whatnot) I can't say I found it particularly interesting.
