So let me explain exactly whta I mean. In the new Evil Dead for example, they find the necronomicon and it just has that "oh fuck this is some demon witchcraft shit.." look to it. The illustrations, that sort of thing. Are there any books out there that are like this?

If not, are there any good books about demons at all? Something dark/eerie/etc. I'm gonna pick up some Lovecraft stuff but I'm looking for something with a really dark and eerie feel.

The Necronomicon (A 'version' of it) is available at your local barnes and noble, or wherever books are sold.

There was actually a neat looking version of it i'm picking up already, another collection of HP Lovecraft stories.

But I'm talking something kind of like a book about someones journey through some dark and evil world or realm or something, kind of like Inferno by Dante yet more modern?

Barlowe's inferno is what your looking for. God's demon if your more interested in a traditional novel.

The Bible of The Adversary may also peak your interest...

I've actually seen that before, I'm still considering picking it up.

But I'm looking for more of an actual novel, just with the very macabre/demonic theme. i'm having trouble trying to explain what I mean.

If you like "The Monk" check out "Melmoth the Wanderer" and Huysmans "The Damned (La-Bas)" as well.
