I've read everything pre-1950 in the fiction so it can't be that good

So, I'm reading Hamlet and I don't get what the big deal is. It's just one famous saying after another.

So pleb it hurts.

Why do you think it's from reddit?

> And probably more people have thought Hamlet a work of art because they found it interesting, than have found it interesting because it is a work of art. It is the “Mona Lisa” of literature.

I've heard of almost every book on the list, what total garbage

>written by God

...But that's not true. Each of the Gospels has its own author (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), while the Epistles were written by St. Paul.

lol. I still don't get how people take his book seriously. It's just 500 pages of god=unicorns nonsense and then showing why unicorns and fairies don't exist.

The Blind Watchmaker is much better. He's a lot better at talking about evolution than talking about God.

Dawkins, Rand.

Not him, but i wouldnt say Dawkins is essential.
Of the four horsemen, I'd say Dennet has something important to say, Hitchens reads nice, Harris has some interesting points, if you to rebuke them, but Dawkins has nothing of value to me.

Owning only "classics" (both ancient and contemporary) is pretentious, intellectually lazy, and, worst of all, fucking dull.
