After evaluating his work as a whole, I have come to the conclusion that this is Dostoevsky's greatest work. Can anyone prove me wrong?

The Grand Inquisitor.

Kurt Vonnegut once said that all of life is contained within the Brothers Karamazov. I tend to believe Vonnegut is full of shit, but then again so is life and so is Dostoevsky. His best works are those where overt sadism, religious obsession and excessive moralism don't butt into the overly-sentimental narrative. Consequently, his best works are The Double and the Gambler, but then those are just pale shadows of Gogol's and Chekov's works, so I guess Dusty never wins.

I've read Nabokov's Lectures on Russian Literature too.
