>Finish Hobbit
>Finish LOTR trilogy
>Finish Silmarillion

Well I guess thats it , oh wait , theres more...

>Did you read the Children of Hurin?
Well no, I thought the Turin chapter covered that...

>Untold stories of Numenor of Middle Earth
well that sounds good, it gets good reviews, guess I better read that

>Lost Tales
>Histories of middle earth multiple volumes
>Bilbo's last song
>Adventures of Tom Bombadil

HOW DEEP DOES THE RABBIT HOLE GO?!
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I READ?
WHY WAS TOLKIEN SO OUT OF HIS MIND TO WRITE THIS MUCH SHIT?

>> No.3909850

pro-tip: tolkien only wrote hobbit, rings trilogy, bilbo's last song and the bombabil one (these last two are poems, actually)

everything else, including silmarillion, was published posthumously by people who ransacked his archives and went like "oh, i bet i could get money out of this. if only it was finish-- oooooh, wait a sec!"

Silmarillion was really good though, I'm curious as to what else is actually worth reading though. I keep hearing Children of Hurin is good although I dont see much to expand on from the Silmarillion, and I hear Untold stories is good too.
