Do you think Pynchon is wishing he could revise Bleeding Edge, now knowing about the NSA or is he happy because his book predicts it?

How late can a writer make adjustments to his novel before it goes to publishing? Could exceptions be made for Pynchon?

That's my guess. I'm assuming Pynchon did his research and is sitting happily knowing he did a damn good job.

Yeah, but I'm talking specifics. Bleeding Edge seems like it's going to be THE zeitgeist novel. It's about the dot com boom, the deep web...If Pynchon pulled out an NSA style revelation it would be impressive, I think.

implying Pynchon isn't an ex-CIA agent gone rogue and his novels are his attempt to confess and come clean

implying he hides his identity because he "doesn't like reporters"

face it, he'd be dead a long time ago if he weren't so reclusive
