I think any answer to this is fleeting. "Purpose" if anything is always based on time and place. Therefore, anyone's purpose is to survive. Given that most of us live in stable first world economies, our lives are implicitly cyclical and meaningless. Therefore, we really don't have a purpose other than to support an economy whose value at its core is fiat.

It's one of my favorite. The lighting so faint, the general still and calm. The fall and color of the skeleton, the way it's lit up by the sun, the contrast to the chaos that passed. The idea itself that the picture incorporates, that even hell can pass and peace is still there. The calm, growing back around death. The slanting of the background to the middle-ground. The curves of the trees. The way it's gray and pale but not dark or somber.
I just love that picture. I love it so much.
But I love a lot of things.
