Living is an animal instint. The only reason we live is because of this. Once you discover life is meaningless and you realize you can't do something "fun" because you are ill, ugly or retarded, there's no ilusion for you, the only thing that makes you live (if you are rational) is the fear of the pain while you are hanging yourself.

I think that if you want to be greater you have to say; I'm tired of living, of being entitled to a body, My will is to disapear... "be greater" is not hur dur le mcdonald he only had a little restaurant see now

Being tired of life is a sign of weakness. Nietzsche may not have been completely right, but when he spoke of such passive nihilism and death-seeking springing from a weakness of the spirit, he hit the nail right on the head.

op life is what you make of it...

Think about that for a moment because it's up to you to make it worth your while, or just give up and stop trying. Life is a gift and we have to realize that pleasure is all the same , so my friend find some pleasure, enjoy your life whatever that entails. Go out for a walk, read a book, take yoga do something that will change the chemicals in your brain.

Listen, I know you mean well, but it's a shame that the whole "chemicals in your brain" thing has become a stock phrase.

Enjoying yourself is a talent that can be developed like so many other things. Most people who complain about life don't really have it all that bad. Aside from horrible illness there's really plenty to live for if you learn to set your sail to the proper wind.

it's still all the same, like it or not it doesn't change it's relevance to the topic. We have a body and this body need to experience the world fully, most people that suffer depression never leave their room. Get the fuck out of your room and interact with people, it will change your life.

Truth. There's this annoying tendency in North American though to reduce people to bags of chemicals and by doing this they remove any agency someone has in their own lives.
That being said, assert some agency in your own life and make some friends.

Clinically-diagnosed depression abuse-survivor here.

I thought about offing myself plenty, but didn't relent because I thought some metaphysical daddy was gonna slap me on the wrist, but because I had learned that there were indeed things worth living for.

Even when I really, REALLY wanted to end it all as a gigantic middle finger to the idiots who made my life hell, I still couldn't go there because I understood enough to know that I was programmed to survive.

Not because of some cosmic daddy, but because that's how nature seemed to work. I never gave a shit about gods 'cause they never gave a shit about me, but I couldn't get over that fact.
