Not me, seeing as I'm a misanthrope who is innately distrustful of anyone in power who tells me "go die because reasons." If I don't trust the average human collective, I sure as hell aren't going to trust groups of people who have actual influence.

Nope. You'd finish your contract as a dual citizen.
Might be a pain in the ass to get everything together afterwards, seeing as they rip up your passport, but if you remember your social you're good to go

I was in the marines for a few years, it was a great experience and gives you a lot more understanding about the world than your average high school grad. That being said, there is also a shit ton of negatives.

I wanted to join the military because of it being a structured well organized entity where you really work together to complete a task.
but then there was the downside of being wounded, killed, witnessing your comrades die and suffer. all for the purposes of politicians you dont even know and have no reason to trust your life to.

protection your homecountry is fine, but politicians are greedy and have no problem killing your for it
