What did you guys think of this book?

>> No.3816441

>>3816422
Thought it was excellent but the movie looks like shit considering the book is written like a series of interviews.

>> No.3816537

I heard it was a bit dull, pulpy crap that quite clearly tries to cash in on the sudden popularity of zombie stuff.

>> No.3816546

>>3816537
Naw. It was way before the zombie craze happened

I haven't seen anything about the movie. Couldn't it be done like a series of interviews too? History Channel style, with "dramatizations" and such?

Heh much older than I thought it was, It got really popular in bookshops around here to the point I thought it'd just been published.

>> No.3816637

Must be a great read if you're an early teen and/or looking for an evenings trash entertainment (nothing wrong in that)

Not worth it for anyone else. Much better written of the genre out there.

>> No.3816646

pretty decent sci-fi

>> No.3816652

I found it had some really cool scenarios and descriptions of events. I've grown past that kind of stuff now, but every once in a while I don't mind reading through it.

i loved it
i expect the movie to be trash just because Hollywood doesn't care about storytelling
I think the scenarios were well thought out and the only part i didn't find believable was that the Israelis let the Palestinians in but then the character didn't find it believable either

>> No.3816690

One of those weirdly captivating things to read. Like a book about dragons or demons.

Pure fantasy and that's why its fun.

Replace the zombies with a real world catastrophe and the book is actually very surreal

> hurr durr Israel survives

lol typical j3w

>> No.3817917

It's great

It's a fun, quick read, and I did think that it was nice how it tried to tell the story in so many different voices.

As long as you can tune out that Brooks Zombies apparently have fucking cheat codes as far as nature is concerned, it's quite entertaining.

>> No.3818853

Only Zombie book I ever read, and wasn't as disappointed as I thought I would be. Some interesting things to think about, the concept of a dealing with swarms.

>> No.3818859

It was like the author did very basic research when writing it or just wanted to write about each country as stereotypes.

The Christian Russians, the socially anxious Japanese man, the English hiding in castles. Was just ridiculous.

>> No.3818884

Great book

the movie will be fucking awfu;

>>3818859
>christian russians as a stereotype
what?

Aye, this was probably his biggest weakness, tea drinking englishmen to gung-ho rednecks. That and the fact that no matter what one of the two dozen narrarators I was "hearing" from, they all sounded like the same voice. Overall, 7/10 especially considering >>3817724

>> No.3819090

11/10

My favorite piece of fiction and the author is a really chill dude

>> No.3819104

It's American neoliberal propaganda.

They don't speak like us, they "like it a lot", they say "Its great". This is obviously advertizing of a piece of shit of a movie/book.
