I am unemployed.
What money I have is spent on cigarettes.
Largely, I do nothing, or, read.
I have read many great books.
They make me happy.
Writing even a good one would be nice.
I don't write too often, though.
I am a slothful man.
But my liver doesn't hurt, yet.
Also, cigarettes feel nice.
I suspect there are a lot more ahead of me, than are behind me.
Somehow, life keeps going.
I don't understand it, but, you don't have to.
It just marches along anyway.

Try getting a job.

Seriously. Your insight into life will change with some employment. There is nothing a lazy NEET can tell an audience about life--so many of the audience experience more of life than said NEET.

These days I relax
And don't worry about much.
But my dreams are gone.

Assumes poem represents literal truth of author's life; misses obvious references that shed light on the poem. Unemployed = NE, not NEET.

The halo, a burnished orange flare
Shining in brushstroke nimbus
Through hues of smoke and lavender
Tender fading; a farewell for a summer's day
A horizon hat-tip
To the dimming sky
And the cold light of dawning stars

I don't think that's poetry, it reads more like a airy journal.

Plus, in order of necessities, my money is spent in this order:

1. Shelter
2. Medicine
3. Food
4. Art
5. Cigarettes

That was why I loved the poem. A great book and the poem entirely changes the story. The black lines are pretty cool as well, they remind me of how war is romanticized by the government.
