He wrote a story about a laundry mangle that gets up and kills people, then he made a movie about it, so I like him.

If the survivor's children are immune to the plague, why aren't a lot of the survivor's parents still alive?

it's not that they passed down the surviving genes, it's that the babies are able to adapt to the virus in the womb or some shit and are therefore born immune

Pet Sematary is one of the most gripping, horrifying things I've ever read, and one of the most cutting personal meditations on death.

I was really disappointed by the Stand. The resolution was predictable with 150 pages to go, and the ending was way too upbeat in my opinion.

He's no Sutter Kane.

because that book is terrible

i just finished 11/22/63
I absolutely hated the ending. "The past can not be changed" Fuck that! I have seen Marty Mcfly, Dr. Who and a million others do it, but steve is too good for all that .

The whole book was awful.
The ending was just poorly made icing on a half-baked cake.

But I have mixed feelings towards Stephen because the Dreamcatcher was one of my favorite books

>> No.3755454

I think he has more weight as a writer than people think. I read Misery and thought it was marvelous, the depth of language and stylistic nuances impressed me right out of the opinion that he is just a pop writer. I'm currently working on more by him.

Christine is my guilty pleasure of his. I know it's a rather simple book and by no means holds much of the literary smarts that his other choice books have, but I really, really like the style of it...

>> No.3755557

the dark tower series is my favorite fiction series ive ever read

I like his old stuff. Bachman books, Night shift, The Shining...

Seems to me that after his accident his writing changed in ways I didn't like.

That isn't to say I think he writes bad now, I just don't enjoy them as much.

>> No.3755918

I've read about 5 or six of his, and enjoyed all of them.

>> No.3756018

When a school shooting happened Stephen King decided to stop printing Rage.

So now all we have to do is reenact every single one of his stories until they're all out of print.

Welp.
