I have a couple of ideas. One is a story about a soldier on Mars getting his life together. Getting screwed over by life and the government numerous times, he meets up with an old friend to get his life back on track and it leads into a dangerous life. . .but on Mars.

A book on a female android on Venus. Haven't thought up of a story yet. I was thinking something on sex and slavery, but I think that's too predictable.

A old Mexican revolutionary turned outlaw. Disillusioned by how everything turned out.

Lastly, a girl, maybe college aged or high schooled aged, and drama. Originally, it had a twist where one of the characters is a demon, but I thought that was stupid. Now, I'm just sitting on it.

I have this idea of writing a picaresque-type novel about a black NYC police officer who happens to be a cannibal when off duty. The officer also has a drug habit, and after failing to pay back a drug lord whom he buys cocaine off of, the drug lord sends his goons to kidnap the officer's wife for a ransom. Left without drugs and given no time to dine on flesh, the officer reveals his deepest anxieties as he goes off searching for his wife. This whole novel would take place during one entire night, and told in a non-linear narrative. I want to capture Nabokov's Otherworldliness and mesh it with a Cormac McCarthian nightmare.

A fable told in a knowingly melodramatic style ala 100 years of solitude about an internet message board that flourished during the late 90s, early 2000s but began to deteriorate as fansites died and the internet became more consolidated.

I don't know what I would write ABOUT, but I've always wanted to make an ebook that required headphones and used sound to affect the reader in different ways.

>> No.3752106

A work of such brilliant prose, such imaginative powers, such sweep, such flair, with such an irresistible story and riveting characters that simply by reading it attentively one could understand those discoveries of molecular biology, neuroscience, psycholinguistics, “philosophy of mind” and “string theory” in the way that their discoverers/creators understand them.

Novel/manga/anime about the NEET life. Part comedy, part muh feels. I'd recommend it if you're at all into that sort of thing.

>> No.3752263

A novel about NEET life has a lot of potential though, so don't be discouraged.. the genre is by no means exhausted, in fact I don't think its surface has even been scratched, at least not from a literary standpoint. The psychological avenues open for investigation and the sort of twisted subjective reality cultivated around the NEET's psyche seem very interesting. I'd love to write a book about someone who essentially has lived their entire life as a shut-in, and who'se formed their worldview and identity based on what the tendrils they have extended throughout the internet, libraries, etc, have absorbed.
