What is supposed to be the appeal of this book?

I'm 3 chapters in and not only is it hard to read but the vulgar language makes it hardly enjoyable, I'm seriously considering dropping it.

You aren't doing that though. You are just saying you don't like a book. That isn't a "discussion". And if this thread isn't for validation then why bother making it? You seriously stop reading a book altogether to start a thread on an anonymous image board so someone could say that it is good or bad? Think for yourself more often here. At the end of your OP you said that you considering dropping it, then do it.
