How does /lit/ feel about this book? I thought the tone was awesome. The first few chapters were the best.

Fuck, I haven't read it yet. Been meaning to for a while. I read "The Night Land" a while back and thought it was pretty good, even if the language was somewhat difficult for me at first (I'm not a native English reader; and it seems the consensus is that his writing was actually sort of clumsy anyways, but is admired by the scope of his ideas).

God, the most chilling book I've ever read. Would make a great horror movie

Stopped reading though when it became lengthy descriptions of interstellar bodies

Weird as hell.

I know right? That went on for chapters, I hated it.

I liked the 'sea of sleep' sections, they were really eerie. Random sections were "missing" from the manuscript.

Fuck, such depressing themes. Death, aging, reminiscing about lost love.
