I read The Third Policeman and At Swim-Two-Birds and they were both brilliant.

Is his other stuff worth looking into?

I'm interested too, bump.

The scene in Third Policeman where they can't jail him because they keep their bikes in the jail cells had me in stitches.

Large portions of the book reminded me of Dylan Moran, got to love Irish humor.

My favourite part was the whole segment about bicycle-human "swapping"

Especially the part about a man who has too much bicycle in him collapsing in a heap if he stops moving and having to be picked up and pushed off again.

Oh also any of the conversations between the Pooka and the Good Fairy in At Swim concerning kangaroos and Orlick's idea of an "erudite" conversation between Furriskey, Shanahan and Lamont.

Ah, what a guy.

I have a 'best of myles' collection which is pretty good, it's just his newspaper articles. He was a ingenious (gah, I hate this term) troll and counter-troll. After getting an article published in the national newspaper he would write a letter from the POV of an offended or angry reader which he would then respond to under another pseudonym. This could go on over the next couple of weeks in the letters section.

The Dalkey Archive is also essential.

Best of myles is brilliant. I think he absolutely nails James Joyce in his analysis of him.

No recommendations myself but I love how he organised the first Bloomsday with some other people and then stopped halfway through because they got too drunk.

Typical irish.

You would recommend the Best of Myles then? I have it on my wishlist but wasn't sure about buying them.

My favourite scene in Third Policeman is he narrator falling in love with his bicycle.
