I need to improve my english reading abilities.

I would like to do this by reading english books.
Would you reccomend me some?

just to give you and idea, atm i have trouble reading Infinite Jest and understand next to nothing of Ulysees.
I have read The picture of dorian gray and metamorphisis with little trouble.

So something that is harder than oscar wilde but simpler than James Joyce.

Speaking from experience as a non-native English reader I would recommend you to try out something in the fantasy or sci-fi genre. The books in these genres, at least the ones intended for more adult readers, tend to have a quite vivid language which is good to build up your vocabulary.

Personally, I would recommend "The Lord of the Rings", simply because it's a classic. Other than that, I am currently reading a serie called "The Malazan Book of the Fallen" by Steven Eriksson which is truly epic and a really good read. For sci-fi, Alastair Reynolds and Peter F. Hamilton are both good writers.
