Ham and Rye by Charles Bukowski. A friend lent it to me, describing it as "a working class American Psycho". The story is pretty crazy so far, but it's a fun ride, in a sad way.

I'm usually going back and forth among three to four books, reading a few chapters, taking down notes, and then switching over to another book I'm reading,, currently I'm reading:
The Jefferson Lies - Barton
Mastery - Robert Greene
George Washington's Sacred Fire - Lillback/Newcombe

Mastery is excellent, I recently finished my notes on Green's 48 Laws of Power and thoroughly annoyed it.
Jefferson Lies is excellent, full of historical content and facts, I lime Jefferson the more I read about him.
Sacred Fire is amazing just due to the sheer volume of it. It's amazing but huge, so sometimes I get a bit worn down with it and switch over to the other books and read those more than this, but I'm swinging back towards it.

The Book of Imaginary Beings by Borges and A Brief History of Fables by Lee Rourke
>Is it any good?
Yep! Both are excellent. The Borges one is best taken at random, because it is an encyclopedia. You can really see how widely he read, and I appreciate the variety of the animals included - Eastern ones are not ignored, not-quite-animals from authors like Kafka are included too. The fables one is giving me a better grasps of the history of them, as well as introducing me to lots of new authors (mostly in the contemporary section). It's not just a history, it's literary criticism as well. Most of the authors covered get hit at a few different angles, with their life and their influence, what they brought to the genre.

Dunno if you're still around, but an emphatic yes. Really good! I was kind of expecting something to be broken up in styles (e.g. cubism, impressionism, surrealism, etc.) but instead it's more chronological and broken up into different eras. You won't see all the main paintings of major artists, but instead there's more about their style, influences, etc. But yeah, very readable and easy to pick up and put down. Also a bit about design and architecture too surprisingly.

But yeah you won't be disappointed.

It's great! For some reason the writing gives me a great and real mental vision, and the main character does speak to me in a sense—mostly his way of thinking and how he goes about things, while in a more drastic manner than I would. Still, with my competence of the English language I still have some issues grasping some scenes in the book, but I am enjoying it all the same as a new challenge.

The Book of the Damned, Charles Fort
>Is it any good?
I'm enjoying them all in there own way. Mysteries can be a bit frustrating, but that's more of a character trait of Nagel. It's similar to Hunger in that way, except less abject.

Ketjak in The Age of Huts is a very fun read so far. A distinctive style of prose poem.

I'm finding Charles Fort quite difficult. But it is entertaining and has philosophical ideas that I find interesting like everything being an expression of one universal whole and how that places limitations on scientific theories.

Yes actually, although everyone on this board will likely shit all over it, the characters are very interesting and Martin likes to kill off his characters which makes for a much more interesting read then a lot of popular fiction - I hate happy endings and I like that the most honourable house in the series gets constantly buttfucked.

One of the best sci fi books out there, certainly one of my favourites. As far as I'm aware it was the first published comparison of the universe to the human body.
