I used to feel that way, but it's just not true. There is no better way to explore ideas and situations than through fiction.

Something about cathorses. It's some kind of animal that's as lazy as a cat and big and dumb as a horse, but you still feel an emotional connection to it.

the point wasn't make fun of real edginess

Please, he did a nice try, but Kant ultimately stated it right: god has to be accepted as a necessary ipothesis to the construction of a coerent philosophical frame.

We can back this with some Kierkegaard if we're playing "no rules, no proofs" in the post 19th century context.

>not worshipping your connection to the universe
Although I haven't previously read Spinoza, I can aprecciate Spinoza's "contribution" just fine. Although is the same as the dao.

>> No.3478016

>>3478005
dunno can't stand Kierkegaard. Kantian god is a much more abstract entity, and I like to read it as 'kosmos' or 'universal reason'.
While Kant stay on the illumism side, Kierkegaard is close to the irrationalistic side of XIX century philosophy.

>> No.3478018

>>3478010
The dao is more consuming. Spinoza emphasises the cause of causes argument. The dao is continuously causal. Of course, both are commensurable.

>> No.3478042

>>3478016
The thing is, universal reason is impossible for non-universal consciousness. We need Kierkegaard as an out.

Homo sapiens. If your consciousness is universal, tell me all about my nose, right now.

>> No.3478085

>>3478070
I'm not universally aware. Look for a person that has experienced gnosis and ask him that, dude. Although the "if you cant proof me this, it means is fake" is pretty dumb. You are setting a condition that can't be met.

But, to answer your question while being a smartass to adopt your own attitude, if you post a picture I can gladly tell you about your nose, because I'm -aware- of the universe, not fully experiencing every inch of it. I can even write a haiku about it. Maybe your concept of universal is wrongly perceived or taken at face value.

>> No.3478206

it can be a learning experience, but only as invocation. you still need proper life experience as well as a buff mind to partake in fiction fruitfully. nonfiction is the way to go for young people
