Btw, what's great about this book, for y'all Borges-loving niggers is that it reads almost like a novel written by Borges.

Borges was kind of Bioy Casares' mentor. They were bros, sure, but Bioy was heavily influenced by him. You can tell that from his style, vocabulary and themes.
Plus, Borges did a lot of revising and correcting in The Invention of Morel.

Please. Book is unreadable. I get why he is basically illiterate, he is in a collapsing society, its not that hard to see the fucking point. But if you are unable to communicate to the reader, and the reader ultimately says "fuck it, I dont want to read a "great novel" that is written in a 2 year olds phonetic spelling, then ya, it def deserves a deduction. I dont give a fuck if its a Goosebumps book or Crime and Punishment, if you destroy your book through some kind of artistic masturbation, you deserve a one point deduction.

He could have written the same fucking book in third person. Inb4 "buttmad", yeah im annoyed that someone could even question that that shit isnt for 99% of the population.

That doesnt even make sense. Book may be fucking fantastic, but author fucked it up.

For example, I love Canticle for Leibowitz, which is sort of same genre. Imagine if he evolved his writing over the what, 1600 years that novel took place, so that the last chapter was barely in English? Even if it told the same story? It would be fuck all, maybe it would be a cool game with the text, but he would have fucked up the experience for the majority of readers who just want to read the fucking book. Or if a book about a dyslexic woman was written with the letters backwards? So trendy, probably would get great reviews, but fuck if im gonna give it a 9/10
