>People think Satan is the protagonist of Paradise Lost

That always gives me a laugh. He's a tragic villain, but it's undoubtable that he is the story's antagonist.

he's more of a tragic hero, as though he's from a greek tragedy after the fall.

>People think that Patrick isn't the funniest character in Spongebob

I was watching Spongebob yesterday and Patrick was laughing really hard and it irritated Sandy, so she gave him an angry look. Then Patrick stopped laughing and looked at the camera like o_O and that always gives me a laugh.

How is he a hero at all? He rebels against God (bad), convinces a bunch of other angels to do the same (also bad), and then creates original sin (sort of good, but he was doing it with malicious intentions).

He fits the mold of the epic hero. In particular, Odysseus. Milton completely subverts this notion of a hero, but Satan is his epic hero.

Again, how? I guess his traversing the void between Hell and Earth is vaguely reminiscent of Odysseus sailing, but I don't see any other obvious analogues.

Journeys (or a quest, that is, a journey with a goal). Talented orator. Deceptive. Warrior. The disillusioned return home after the journey.

Why did you phrase the OP in such an unpleasant way? Why begin an interesting discussion on such a caustic note? Wouldn't it be easier to just behave yourself?
