go to your library, they should have many there

also, if you have never used Audible before, sign up and they'll give you a free credit (free book). I actually got 3 free credits when I did it then cancelled my account after getting the books (lol)

There are just that many more people involved in the production and there's less demand for audio than a pulp copy.

They're expensive because somebody with a good voice had to read them out loud from start to finish -- sometimes requiring several takes for tricky passages -- and then somebody else had to edit the audio.
