Just finished Dune. Are the 20 some sequels worth reading?

What they said. The first 6 or whatever are the best.

Past that it's kind of fun to read when you're bored and need something incredibly easy and fast. It's always neat to flesh out a story, even if the writing is bad, as long as you're not sacrificing reading other things to read them.

First, it's spelled 'Tolkien'.

Second, his son never actually wrote any fiction. He edited (very carefully) some of his father's papers, nothing more.
