I'm all for relativity except when it comes to science. Science is absolute truth. Things such as the meaning of life, consciousness, are all things where relativism can be applied very usefully to produce accurate conclusions.

Of course, this is all relative to my perspective.

A better video for the preteen Nietzscheans:

Good choice of image. He could seriously do with a reading of "On Truth and Lie".

Can /lit/ go through one fucking 24 hour cycle without a Nietzsche or Tao Lin thread?

Guy's right, a lot of people interpret him as a postmodernist.

>> No.3374000

Doesn't mean he was one.

>> No.3374002

>>3373957
You clearly haven't even read him.

He was also a neo pagan, in favor of hierarchy, inegalitarianism and aristocracy, returning to pre socratic greek ideals as found in the iliad etc.

I prefer to see his relativism as a way of saying christianity is good for 'them', the lesser races, but it isn't good for 'us', we 'good europeans.' We need our own ways.

>> No.3374003

>>3373969
He wasn't a postmodernist only because postmodernism as a "philosophy" (if you can call such dreck a philosophy) didn't exist during his time.

If he was alive today he'd be lumped in with every other postmodern fuckwad and summarily ignored by people with more brain cells than appendages.

>> No.3374004

>>3374000
Yeah, but you can't prove he wasn't, so who cares?

>> No.3374007

>>3374004
He wasn't, because post modernism didnt exist then.

>> No.3374014

>>3373993
maybe so, but that doesn't entail relativism and that doesn't mean that is a correct interpretation - Nietzsche would hate to be lumped with post modernists who are also feminists, marxists, pro democracy, etc

To say Nietzsche is postmodern is like saying Socrates is Platonic, you're putting the cart before the horse
