I wish I was a writer who sees what's yet unseen.

Or

I wish I was a writer who sees what's yet to be seen.

I know it's trite, but I'm so curious if one makes more sense. I opted for the latter. Although it's just a subtle difference, it interests me.

yet to be seen makes more sense

>> No.3367983

do you mean "scientist" ? O.o

>> No.3367988

The second one is clearer, more concise.

The first option seems a bit laboured

Thanks i agree. Picture related, it's me.

>"I wish I was"
needs to be
>"I wish I were"

"yet unseen" is better. might sound better if you take out the contraction too.

>> No.3368040

I see tits, OP. Perhaps you could write about those

>> No.3368043

I think "was" sounds better. It's past tense.
Fuck "were" It's overly poetic.

Hey OP, you wanna marry me? I'm a writer too

"what's yet to be seen"

a futurologist?
a conspiracy theorist?
a Tarot-reading whore?

I see your future OP; It consists of writing and marriage

"Were" does make more sense, but can you explain why you think "yet unseen" is better? I understand it's probably intuitive.

Yr not understanding the point of the thread.

>> No.3368070

Can you explain why "yet unseen" doesn't make as much sense. It seems intuitive to me, and as if the "yet" in the sentence doesn't make sense. I am talking to a person who is an English major and wrote it, not to criticize him but question his skills to myself.

>fuck "were" it's overly poetic

yeah, fuck grammar amirite, who needs that shit!?

I wish I was a writer who sees what's not been seen.

meter of the former and clarity of the latter

and you'd be saying "what is not been seen"
now does that make any sense?

"what has not been seen"

Lol op here, so confused now. I wish those who replied would qualify their statements. But shits so intuitive, i forget the rules of writing and try to go by ear but this happens.
