Hi /lit/
I need a new book to read but I can't really decide which one to buy.
It's either
Dr. Bloodmoney
Valis trilogy
or
The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch

I'd really like to read Palmer Eldritch, but the book is only avialable in english. A version in my own language would cost 30 bucks and that's too much for me.

VALIS

i thought dr bloodmoney was meh, and the stigmata didn't live up to my expectations. VALIS is the best thing of his i have read. i've read half of all he ever wrote.

How about you stop reading pseudo-lit and buy a real book?

It's good entry level literature.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

Delusional cunts.

OP here
I'll just buy all three.

>pseudo-lit
I just happen to enjoy science fiction. Call the cops.

There is no entry level literature, only entry level readings.

I enjoyed Bloodmoney the most out of these three, but it isn't a classic PKD novel. Stigmata is a much better example of standard PKD fare. VALIS is just weird.

I'd say:

>The World Jones Made
>Eye in the Sky

They're both 1950's Dick. Don't start with Valis, just don't.

Eldritch is good shit too, but if it's your first time with Dick, try the ones above.

Are you retarded?

>2013
>trying to impress others about self

Literature isn't about your self-esteem, fuckface. You obviously don't understand the point of literature, or intelligence, for that matter.

You're basically the equivalent of a lazy jock: you want to work out to show your muscles, but you're too weak and lazy to actually work out, so, instead, you read for the same reason. It's easier for you because actual culture and intelligence don't show as easily so you can lie, to others and yourself, that you're smart and accumulating wisdom, knowledge, etc, whereas all you're accumulating is a conceited and complacent ego.

What.

Whhaaaaat.

At one point in that post was self-esteem, ego, whatever, in any way alluded to?

Jesus Christ, talk about over-reaction.

not that guy, but the way you categorized the work as "entry level" has a lot of implications about the way you view literature. same goes for the guy who used the term "pseudo-lit".

>> No.3323641

>>3323615
Oh no, I didn't mean that at all. I didn't even realise it had whatever the fuck connotations that guy seemed to think it had.

I was just referring to the fact that it's good literature that's also quite easy to read.

Why that guy decided to throw an autistic shit-fit, I have no idea.

Not really my first read.
I read Ubik, Androids, Time-Slip and Flow My Tears.

>> No.3325940

Like many other authors Dick will be revealed like after 100 years, trust me. Read him now or die tryin'

>>3323453 < I presume real book means Stephen King, EL James and etc.
