Hey, /lit/, I'm off school until January 7th.

I bought The Casual Vacancy for my sister as a Christmas gift. Should I read it before I give it to her, o
r focus on my backlog?

Backlog includes:

The Secret Agent
Heart of Darkness
Fellowship of the Ring
The Tourist
Meditations
On the Road

And some readings for school.

Don't listen to this guy, read what you want.

How would you feel if someone read a book then gave it to you as a present? Don't read it man. Maybe after your sister finishes you can ask her.

Good point, man. I was thinking that would be a little unethical.

Definitely read the Conrad.

And like the other guy said, ask if you can borrow it afterward. The Casual Vacancy is awful, but you have to read it (or at least some of it) before you can have a valid opinion about it.

>unethical
A social faux pas maybe but watch where you put this word.

The Casual vacancy is a fucking waste of time I wouldn't give it to someone in case they felt they were obligated to read it and I wouldn't wish that upon my enemies.

You are the worst person
