>I only wish someone had warned me about Moby-Dick before I slogged my way through it.

fuck this guy. Book was fucking awesome.

also, this article has given me even more motivation to go out and start reading some Faulkner. Is it really that hard to follow?

I honestly felt like a fucking grand master of knowledge about 19th century whaling practices after i got done with that book. Loved it. I also liked all of Stubb's hilarious old timey manner of speaking and how he motivated his boat crew.

"I haven’t read Faulkner, but I’ll take your word for it. And now, let the fury begin, but “Catcher in the Rye” and J.D. Salinger are overrated. I think Salinger was a big phony. The book’s not incomprehensible, I’ll grant that, but thoroughly overrated. A great quote: “Salinger was . . . the greatest mind ever to stay in prep school.” And I read one Hemingway book in school, “The Old Man and the Sea.” I was rooting for the fish."

the comment are concentrated retardation

see i probably would only feel annoyed if some prole cunt praised faulkner; akin to seeing Pauly D at the club with a copy of anti-oedipus.
