Has anyone who watches the show/reads the comics read this?
Is it worth buying and reading? What can I expect?
Casual reader here.

OP skip that shit and play the video game that came out earlier this year. It's quite remarkable

I already have. It's what compelled me to read the books.
I want to get into the comics but at the moment don't have enough money to buy a large amount of physical issues. Don't want to read it off my PC or a tablet either. Y'know?

I cried at the end of Ep5.
"I'll miss you."

woah woah woah if you haven't read the comics then don't fuck around with a novel. read the comics first, bro

>written by Robert Kirkman
>...and jay bonansinga

You really don't know how to recognize ghostwriting? This book basically tells you on the cover "ENDORSED BY ROBERT KIRKMAN and written by jay bonansinga"

Oh, I thought Rise of the Governor would be a good place to start. Gives an implication of being -while still canon- a little irrelevant. Like MGS3 compared to the other MGS's.

Thank-you though. How do the comics work? Isn't there like 100 issues or something? Is there multiple to a book? I really don't know sorry.

trust me, the novel will spoil things about the comics and it is definitely intended to be consumed by people who've gotten through a certain section of them. hurry up and read them before the TV show gets any further

oh and to answer your question, you can buy (or maybe even find at your library), books that publish multiple comics together in volumes. Check "Graphic Novels" section

The show seems to be going off on it's own tangent isn't it?
Didn't the comic have the prison really early on?

>>3229571
Also thanks! It's a shame I have a compulsive need to actually own them instead of lending them from a library. I'll keep an eye out though :)

>> No.3229598

>>3229582

well it's not that the comics went to the prison "early on" it's that the TV show decided to spend an entire season at the farm when in the comics that whole section lasted about a day

plus the TV show is disgusting and unbearable

Oh wow, that short? Neat. The whole SOPHIA shit dragged on too long. They did too much character development to try and make the twists seem more dramatic. I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about.

So is the show actually that much worse than the comics? Or would it just be that I'm enjoying it so much because I'm more of a /tv/ and /v/ kind of guy?

This.

It's like when movies say it's "presented by" a good director, but "directed by" some random guy you never heard of. Just means Kirkman is getting paid to slap his name on Bonansinga's fanfiction.
