I for one am extremely excited.

>> No.3217669

Why would I be excited for a book I already read?

>> No.3217674

I loved the book The Hobbit and consider it better than Lord of the Rings.

I was horrified by the Disney dwarves team though and will not spend a dime on that horrible shitfest of a movie.

no

all i know is that it's lord of the rings 2 or something

you have 13 main characters, all of whom are dwarves. you need to be able to tell them apart relatively easily. its a children's book, its a good thing peter jackson didn't go full grim/dark

Oh come on, the dwarves had no personality at all in the book. That was the point, the reader is just as confused by them as Bilbo is. I mean, Tolkien named them in fucking pairs, it's supposed to be funny.

I have tickets to the midnight premiere in IMAX. They're not showing it in 48 fps in my city though.

It's a fucking children's book.

It still looks too grimdark honestly. I am afraid the spirit of the book will be missing.

I was excited for FotR.
It was only a little disappointing.
I was slightly less excited for TTT.
It was quite disappointing.
I approached RotK with trepidation.
It was even worse than I expected.

Now I'm back to being excited again for The Hobbit I or whatever PJ is calling it. How badly can he fuck up a fairly simple children's book?
But I'll probably be disappointed again.

Trying too hard.
