It's sad knowing I'll never get back the experience I had from reading this during recess as a little kid who sucks at sports and lacks friends. Truly one of the best moments of escapism in my life

Image related. The first book that showed me what a book could do. Fucking beautiful. Until then all I'd read were "Did you know?" children's trivia/science/general knowledge books.

I loved this book. I started reading basically as soon as I learned how, and this was the only children's book we had in the house. I remember reading it a dozen times.

You don't have to read it in public. And if you absolutely need to, just say you're learning the language or something. Also, it's none of their goddamn business what you're reading. Christ, don't make this more difficult than it has to be.
