I love most of these words because certain sounds are appropriate to the concept:
baSK, the end of the word smoothly drops you down into a liquid substance.
DEL-I-CATE -- your mouth tip-toes over the word so as not to break or disturb it.
lOFTy -- like soft, any -oft sound, is like an upward release.
sMOULDering -- the word crumbles into ash as you say it.

And some I just really like the concept: melancholia, nostalgia, solace, catharsis.
