Excuse me, sir, but if God knows what will happen before it does, why didn't he stop Judas from betraying Jesus?

Isn't it posited that Jesus needed to be crucified?

Also didn't he tell the Apostles that one of them would betray him?

Its all predestined. Everything.
So all this pain and suffering, which god blames on us, is all a part of his plan.

This profound? I call it asinine. If this is the truth of the universe, I stand against this god.

>> No.3155564

The simple fact of the matter is that the Israelites' god was not always omniscient or omnipotent, and has certainly never been omnibenevolent by any sane stretch of the imagination. This shit was all piled on later, and anyone who's read the Old Testament can see it for what it is: childish "MY GOD IS BETTER THAN YOUR GOD" nonsense.

Honestly, YHWH is a pretty typical violent war god. The only thing that comes to mind that's odd about him is that he gets fucking pissed if you say his name or depict him.

Then go fuck yourself pathetic pussy, quite misinterpreting things and making it out to be misanthropic, and everyone knows god is the source of all knowledge so if you fail to understand his principles don't ever call yourself an intellectual.

"Fifth, we should not think only of Judas as we read our text—Judas is but one example of many who, like him, choose to reject the light and to dwell in darkness. Specifically, Judas is a dramatic picture of the rejection of Jesus by the nation Israel"

God is a player.

He is playing. Just like you play a game even though you already know that, in the end, it's all going to be finished and you'll gain nothing from it. Just like you play a song even though the song has a finish. You don't play the song in order to get to finish it, you play for the sequence of notes, for the now, for the playing itself.

>if God knew, why didn't...
Why would he? It's a game. It's all alright. There is no need to be afraid or desperate about anything. God is up there. And it's a game. It's only us that take things all so seriously, as if anything could happen to the best of all possible worlds.

God only has knowledge of events that have happened and will necessarily happen (the Crucifixion, the Apocalypse, etc), or he has perfect knowledge of all freely chosen actions. Anyway, the Crucifixion was God's intention and it provides many lessons for us. Judas's misunderstanding of what the messiah was supposed to be (a warlord for the Jews, not a savior of all mankind and nature) and his thinking he could trick God into doing what he (Judas) thought God should be doing (telling the Romans and Sanhedrin where Christ was, so they would try to kill him and force the Christ into starting a war for the Jewish people) also teaches us valuable lessons on theology, so why would he stop it? God also doesn't generally interfere with human life, so there's that.

If God is concious of the position of all particles present in the universe and their momentum then he can postulate the outcome of the entire universe on a micro-scale.

QED; mere present omniscience more or less equates to future omniscience anyway.
