Say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, but it's debatable to what degree Heidegger identified with them. Sure, he was probably on the lookout for some authoritarian mold of society -- given a society based around authentic dasein's need for a strong personality behind it. He fucked Arendt, a Jew, so that's something; he was also a remarkably stubborn guy, so it's possible that he just felt too embarrassed to renounce Nazism.
