Do you think that if all the technology that currently exists today existed about 100 years ago, Lenin would be too busy looking up shit on the internet to start the Russian revolution?

>> No.3136924 [DELETED]

Depends on the system of government. He wouldn't have been revolutionary if Russia hadn't been a monarchy constantly slapping the shit out of everyone

Well the occupy movement didnt exactly take off. The only revolutions that happen anymore are in places where there are no smartphones. If Spain or Greece were a shitty middle eastern country with no tech, there would be a civil war right now.

actually, that makes me wonder. Assuming he wasn't a straight-out marxist, what would Lenin actually have complained about if he were born in the states?

Libertarianism? Gun rights? Radical Christian evangelicalism? Fuck, this is going to make me sick

>> No.3137120

He would go on the internet to find evidence to support his ideas, find evidence leading to a different better idea, then find evidence that the old idea was better. Then he would have to find evidence to refute all opposing ideas. Then he would start drinking. Then get old. Then tired.

That's because countries with less technology are more likely to be run by shitty governments that suppress technology and mishandle the economy, and thus need to be overthrown.

It's not like everyone in Greece is too distracted by tech. to overthrow the government. The presence of tech. is a sign that the government doesn't need to be overthrown; there's sufficient wealth for survival in the country, their policy is just super shitty.

Same with Lenin. If he had a laptop, the country would be wealthy enough to keep people from caring about revolution.

Not what I meant.
I mean people don't think a government needs to be overthrown if they're doing ok, which they are if you have access to modern technology.

Should those governments be overthrown? Idk, maybe, depends? Clearly the citizens don't think so or they would be trying to do so.

All I'm saying is I don't think the reason Greece isn't overthrowing its government like the Middle Eastern nations are doing is because they're distracted by phones, especially when the Middle Eastern revolutionaries are noted for using technology...

Looking back at my post, I shouldn't have worded it as "need to be overthrown", that was a super shitty way of wording it and not what I mean.
