Anyone else here doing hard science?

Do you also have difficulties studying cause you want to read non science books- wasting brain energy?

I'm studying mathematics and computer science. I really like that when all my literary endeavors are independent of my classes, so there's a part of my mind I can entertain that's completely free of formal academic obligations.

Actually that pic is not true. My mum calls me every day and I never answer the phone.

>Chem major, always interested in philosophy
>End up taking more philosophy than chem, just taking bare minimum chem
>Disregard chemistry, reads for philosophy and gets extra readings from teachers
>Still manage to pass chemistry and get chem degree

I just want to write for a living

My cell phone is my fucking internet device mainly. It's mostly for 4chan but also news and basic web browsing.

Also video games.

I'm the exact opposite. Recommendations for good science books. I've read Bryson, Sacks (a.k.a. the standards)

I had the last 2 weeks no free time to read cause of a Chemistry exam. Finished it yesterday, the first thing I did today is picking up "The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea" to finish it.
I have two more chapters to go. I just want to read. Also, dat pic

studying mathematics, philosophy and linguistics.

fortunately, i only read philosophy on my spare time - so it's a non-zero-sum game

Shut up, OP. I hate you and your stupid image. *cry*

>> No.3132611

Sciencey books and papers are quite dry a lot of the time, so I found reading anything else would just help me get going with reading and sometimes kinda work like a pallat cleanser.

I also used to do something like the intricate peg board and string thing in a Beautiful Mind if I was getting bored with revision or had a big set of papers to read through and link together.

Joke's on you, I don't even have a cell phone.
