I've been looking to read A Portrait of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, and I am curious how big of a difference there is between the censored and uncensored version.
Is there any difference, /lit/? If so, how big of a difference does it make to the book? Is it better censored or uncensored?

hardly any difference at all. you won't even notice the parts that were cencored because for today's standards it is absolutely ridiculous. it's merely minor hints that could be interpreted as inappropriate if you read it with the wrong mind to begin with, that got cut out.

It's The Picture of Dorian Gray, not Portrait.

Here's a list of the passages: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Picture_of_Dorian_Gray#Deleted_or_moved_passages
