Eng essay due in a few hours

How would /lit/ define happiness

>> No.3059600

>>3059585
Happiness is doing your own homework.

Also, I was going to post something about how people that start homework threads should be assraped, but then I decided that it would be unconductive to good netiquette and board quality.

Take care of yourself, OP.

that does remind me of the "hap" root in happiness, which is to say that it's just a lucky state of affairs (I think, not entirely up to date on my etymology). Should take his teacher up to task on "pleasure" or something more nuanced, throw in jouissance for dat Frenchification

This.

Most people just subject themselves to people who agree with them constantly. Members of this group rarely stray from the "hivemind" of their group for fear of being thrown out.

Genuine acceptance can only really occur when you question things constantly and like the answer you come up with.

God, you are stupid. Why do I even come here? I'll tell you why - I bought this energy drink and I want to go to sleep but it would be a waste of this money I spent on this energy drink if I didn't drink it before I went to sleep. So, here I am, languishing in this electrical purgatory.

Happiness is looking into her eyes and knowing she fears you utterly: that she fears your face more than pain or amputation or anything you could do to her: knowing that she fears only your face - your lips - and has become accustomed to the rest of you. That is happiness.

To me, there are different forms of happiness:

The 'victorious' happiness -the feeling of resistance being overcome: Creating something or conquering something usually triggers this response.

Safety and self-acceptance: The feeling that everything is as it should be.

Relief: that pressure has been subtracted. This emotion is similar to the one of the victory but not quite: Relief is more of pressure DISSAPPEARING rather than it being overcome.

Simple bodily well-being - the feeling of being healthy and feeling well in ones body.

And a lot of others. Just these few that I could mention.

>> No.3060139

Happiness is anything that causes a high enough dopamine, serotonin and noroepinephrine release for a feeling of pleasure to be created; high enough to counteract a depletion in said neurotransmitters, or any anxiety/displeasure caused by various forms of sensory input.
