What books can I read to learn about Germany's history in a first person POV? It can be any genre.

>> No.3033405

For the XXth Century, you may tried to find books of Ernst Junger (Storm of Steel, his diary) and Ernst Von Salomon.

I do not know if they have never been translated in english.

The Dreamthief's Daughter by Micheal Moorcock
No seriously.

Bierbike is such a retarded yet hillarious thing.

Ernst Junger...

Mein Kampf

>> No.3033658

Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann is a must-read if you're trying to get to know German history a bit.
The POV is more a family than a specific person, but that shouldn't matter. It won Mann the Nobel prise, by the way.

Thomas Mann + POV = Dr Faustus

>> No.3033676

>>3033658
Die Blechtrommel won Grass the Nobel Prize too, and it much more fun to read. Buddenbrooks can be very tedious and it's a bad introduction into German literature.
