So,

Bukowski.

What book do I start with/what order to read him in?

>> No.3021889

>Post Office
>Love is a Dog From Hell
>Ham on Rye
>You Get So Alone at Times That It Just Makes Sense
>Factotum
>Notes of a Dirty Old Man
>The Captain is Out to Lunch and the Sailors Have Taken Over the Ship

TCOLSHTOS is my absolute favorite Bukowski anything. Excellent if you're a writer yourself, or just wanting to read something that's ultra sentimental-core.

No problem. Once you read Factotum, watch the film version with Matt Dillon. I didn't expect anything from it but I was actually very impressed, it's a very faithful and well-handled adaption.

Also, if you find you enjoy Bukowski, read John Fante, most notably his novel Ask the Dust. Also look into some Celine. They both heavily influenced him.
