What do you guys do while reading? Do you just sit around reading or do you listen to music, perhaps even have the TV / Youtube running?

I know I can't read without having some kind of shit blaring in the background, mostly some youtube playlist. I don't know what it is.

I tend to like ambient nose (wind, occasional cars, freezer), but I find TV and radio can be really distracting, and music especially makes it impossible for me to read (I tend to follow the music over the book). I'm not sure I understand the appeal of noise when trying to focus on reading, but to each his own.

I require quiet when I read. In fact I cannot read in the presence of a television or while people are talking or anything like that. I can read at a library or a park I don't require absolute silence but I do prefer it.

I can only read while hanging out my window by my feet. Gangnam style must be playing on loop at full volume to be audible over the vacuum cleaner I must also have running. In one hand I hold the book and turn the pages with my teeth, keeping my other hand free to peg the neighborhood cats with rocks.
