Hey /lit/. New to thread, so try to not troll as much the fag.
I've always liked literature, but... I can't ever finish a book. I seem to lack some sort of 'spark', one that would make me interested in the book. I need to read 3 books this year, for school works and shit, and I'm so shitty at picking up books... And I thought you people could help. Any suggestions?

To keep you entertained read Hunger Games or something mainstream.

There's no hope, tbh, if you can't even finish a work. Have you never read anyhting as a child either? These works are often more plot-dependent, so they help you get to the end.

I'm kinda disgusted by all that crap, I'd rather read something like Farenheit 451, that I read once a long time ago, but I can't present it anymore because I did in the past

I've finished a few works, but not many, at least not enough to be called anything as close to reader at all. As I said, I finished a few, but I never though had that pleasure, and I was wondering if there was any book that could change that

What books have you tried reading, that you gave up on?

If you are struggling to find something that will hold you attention, read something that focuses on plot, not prose.

I gave up on almost every book I have tried, with exception of The Left Hand of God which I finished recently, some books from Anthony Horowitz and some others I can't remember

I was thinking of maybe reading The heart of darkness by Joseph Conrad, is that a good book?

it's short but difficult. It's easier to read a thriller/fantasy/other plot-driven work
