Talk about the author talking down to undergrads and BLUDGEONING you with the obvious. I would recommend reading the first chapter instead of skimming it, despite people's political feelings about this book, no one will disagree with me when I say you are confused about the simplest chapter of the simplest book on world history and human geography.
