That is not an accurate description of what his statement implied.

Ambiguity and nonexistence are not interchangeable.

I suspect he was talking about something closer to belief, and it's relationship with the way we perceive the world around us.

Personally, I think it's hogwash and misrepresents the purpose of language, but that's no reason to throw reading comprehension out the window.
