I totally related to that part, because I severely abuse any drug I consume, pot included. I do nothing all day for weeks at a time when Im smoking weed and I ignore friends and family completely.

Having said that, I run out, feel crappy for a couple days and then its back to normal. But I binge on it just like its described in the book.

Same. I could really relate to that characters urges, except I don't shut myself off. I go on intense binges, often lasting a week or so, and try to drag as many people along with me as possible. It's a strange feeling, as I stay sober for months at a time, until this strong urge to binge takes hold of me. Recently I have started integrating this into some kind of holiday, and think this is the best way to create a partition between my life of conventional, suit wearing, normality, and the crazy hedonistic side of me. Earlier this year I went to Ibiza, and had a mad week of booze, MDMA, acid, weed and freebase, and will be going to the Oktoberfest in a few weeks, followed by 5 days in Ayia Napa.
